Catholic School Council Nomination Profiles

The virtual Catholic School Council meeting will take place on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 6:45pm.  Thank you to the following parents for putting their names forward for a position on the CSC.

Cristina Santoro My name is Cristina Santoro and my family and I have been living in Nobleton for the past 4 years.

Being involved in the school/community is so important for myself and  my children to grow up knowing they not only have supportive parents but also a support community behind them. Getting involved in St. Mary’s school I know I will bring a lot of positivity, support, encouragement and great ideas. This community is small but so mighty and by having support not only on the playground but outside of it will bring the families closer together and the children will grow up with an amazing experience and having our community be the best we can be. Together!

Lisa Tomada I have 3 children who have all attended St. Mary’s.  My boys have graduated and my daughter is in Grade 6.  I have been a parent member of council for 14 years (co-chair for 1 year) and have participated in planning fundraisers, bbqs and starting the school spirit wear program.  I bring the experience of past success and challenges (faced by the school and parent council) to this new 2020-2021 parent council.

Larissa Porciello Hi, my name is Larissa.

I am a professional in the field of insurance and leverage my expertise in the area of cost mitigation and expense allocation. My educational background is Law and Criminology.

I am currently an active member serving on a number of organizational committees at my place of employment.  Most notably, I am the Vice President of the Social Committee since 2016, Co-Chair of the Occupational Health & Safety Committee, member of the Fire & Safety Committee, and Member of the Health & Wellness Committee.

I am passionate about reading and literacy learning, and have volunteered as a reading support mentor within the Nobleton Library.

I would love to invest my time as a parent representative within the council at St.Mary’s to contribute and generate excitement, transparency, and to support diversity and inclusion within our community students and parents.

Nadia Scaramuzzo A St. Mary’s parent to two wonderful children, Matthew age 11 and Brooke age 9.  I also work full time and lead a national business in the Utility & Power sector.

I have been a part of the community since moving to Nobleton in 2016 and have served on parent council for the last few years.  During this time, I have been active in volunteering and fundraising for our school.

I look forward to continuing my work on parent council to help contribute towards our success!

Fiorella Lubertacci I have been a member of the Catholic School Council for 3 years now and have enjoyed participating in all activities that strive to make St. Mary a wonderful school community. I feel sitting on school council is a privilege and allows me the opportunity to give parents a voice in important decision-making at our school.

I believe every child and family are unique and all voices should be heard.

A child’s emotional wellness and physical safety is of upmost importance and one’s school community plays an active role in fostering these aspects of a child’s life. As such, I would love to be reconsidered for a position on our Catholic school council.
