Vive le Carnaval

The French department at St. Mary is excited to host a fun-filled week of exciting winter activities to commemorate WINTER CARNIVAL. Le Carnaval de Quebec is one of the world’s largest winter carnivals with a variety of winter activities, food and music. We will be celebrating Carnaval the week of February 8-12. Each day will be designated a different theme. Take note of the various theme days taking place this week:

Monday: Foulard et Tuque (Scarf and Tuque)

Tuesday: Chandail de Sport (Jersey)

Wednesday:  Bon Nuit Mercredi (P.J. and eat your favourite goodnight snack for breakfast or lunch)

Thursday: Blu et Blanc (Wear blue and white – the colours of the Quebec flag)

Friday: Rouge, Rose et Blanc pour la St. Valentin (Wear red, pink or white to honour St. Valentine)

Students will also be participating in various activities such as LOTO Carnaval Bingo. Throughout the week the students will also be completing various Carnival themed activities, i.e., mask-making, examining Carnival celebrations from around the world, palais de glas, and so much more! We look forward to seeing many staff and students showing their Carnaval spirit!

Merci beaucoup!
