Halloween at St. Mary

Halloween Reminders

As we approach Halloween,  we anticipate the excitement of all who will celebrate and we hope that parents will assist in helping maintain safety at the school on this fun day by following these requests.

  1. NO FOOD OR CANDY should be shared on Halloween.
  2. Students are invited to wear a costume to school.  Culture is NOT Costume: Please refrain from using costumes that represent a cultural group or ethnicity. (e.g. First Nations, Chinese, Arabic, etc.)
  3. Costume Masks are NOT Necessary: Wearing costume masks during the school day can compromise the safety of the community. We should always be identifiable in our community so we can avoid having unwelcome guests. They may also hinder the sight of students at school.
  4. Weapons as Part of Costumes: Wearing Replica Weapons presents a possible compromise to the safety and wellbeing of staff and students. Costume weapons should not be part of their costumes for the day.
  5. Inflatable Costumes are a great idea for Trick or Treating.  They should not be worn at school.

Halloween Dance – Monday, October 31, 2022

1:00pm-3:15pm – Intermediate (Gr. 7-8)

Pumpkin shaped cookies will be sold at the dance for $2.00.  Unfortunately, due to space limitations in the gymnasium, parents and visitors will not be permitted to attend.  We anticipate that your children will have plenty of wonderful stories to share at the end of the day.  It’s going to be a “bootiful” Halloween Day!
