Getting Ready for Back to School

You may be getting ready for Back to School and looking for advice on what school supplies students may need to get started for another year of learning.  Please find below recommended school supply lists for students by division.

Getting Ready for Kindergarten

Please find below a list of items the Kindergarten teachers are recommending your child should bring to school in September. Please remember to label your child’s belongings.

■ A backpack that your child can carry comfortably and that will be large enough to carry a lunch bag.

■ A lunch bag

■ A reusable water bottle

■ Indoor shoes with non-marking soles

■ “Just in Case Clothes” in a ziploc bag, please label each item

  • 2 pairs of underwear
  • 2 pairs of socks
  • 2 pairs of pants
  • 2 shirts

■ a box of Kleenex tissues

■ Masks (optional)

Getting Ready for the Primary Grades (Gr. 1-3)

  • A backpack that your child can carry comfortably and that will be large enough to carry a lunch bag, agenda, library books and other school notebooks.
  • Indoor pair of shoes with non-marking soles
  • pencils
  • an eraser
  • ruler
  • pencil crayons
  • glue sticks
  • scissors
  • a pencil case large enough to hold the above items
  • a box of large Ziploc baggies
  • a box of Kleenex tissues
  • Masks (optional)
  • a ziplock bag with extra clothes

Agendas have been ordered for all students and will be distributed in September.

Getting Ready for the Junior Grades (Gr. 4-6)

  • duotangs (1 of each colour: red, black, light blue, dark blue, yellow, green, orange)
  • Pencil case to hold the following materials:
  • Pencils
  • Erasers
  • Ruler
  • Blue pen
  • Red pen
  • Pencil crayons
  • Markers
  • Protractor
  • Calculator
  • Box of tissue
  • Masks (optional)

Getting Ready for the Intermediate Grades (Gr. 7-8)

  • Three 1” or 1 1⁄2” inch binders
  • Loose leaf lined and graph paper
  • Dividers
  • Plastic page protectors
  • duotangs (1 of each colour: red, black, light blue, dark blue, yellow)
  • Pencil case to hold the following materials:
  • Pencils/pencil sharpener
  • Erasers
  • Ruler
  • Blue pens
  • Red pens
  • Pencil crayons
  • Markers
  • Highlighters
  • Sharpies
  • Glue sticks
  • White out
  • Protractor
  • Scientific Calculator
  • Masks (optional)

Please note: Junior and Intermediate students are permitted to bring their own devices (BYOD) such as tablets, laptops, chromebooks…NO cell phones or ipods are to be used as devices and personal devices may be brought in once the appropriate permission forms have been signed. Further information will be provided by the classroom teacher during the first week of school.
