Happy Thanksgiving

At this time of year, we are paticularly grateful for the St. Mary community of educators, students, parish priest and parents/guardians.  What makes St. Mary unique is the wonderful sense of belonging and the many contributions of all members.  This Thanksgiving weekend, we give thanks for the many blessings we have.

Terry Fox School Run/Walk

In celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Terry’s Marathon of Hope, St. Mary School is participating in the Terry Fox School Run/Walk on Thursday, October 1st. We are proudly committed to raising much-needed funds for cancer research. The staff will ensure physical distancing protocols are maintained. Staff and Students are invited to wear Red and White on this day.

National Custodial Workers’ Recognition Day

October 2 is National Custodial Workers’ Recognition Day, a day in which we recognize and show appreciation to our custodians, assistant custodians and maintenance staff who work tirelessly each day to ensure the smooth operation of our schools and office buildings.

Orange Shirt Day

Honouring & Remembering That Every Child Matters

At St. Mary we will be celebrating Orange Shirt Day on Wednesday, September 30th.  Students are invited to wear an orange shirt in honour of those who attended residential schools.  In an effort to raise awareness and honour our indigenous community we will be sharing messages of hope and reconcilia

Rowan’s Law Day

Concussion Awareness 

On October 2nd, students and Staff at St. Mary will be learning about Rowan and Rowan’s Law. We want to raise greater awareness about concussions by sharing Rowan’s Stringer’s story.  Rowan died in 2013 from experiencing a series of concussions while playing Rugby.  She didn’t know that her brain needed to heal and this eventually caused her death.
